Twister's open source, highly customizable test execution framework enables QA teams to fully automate manual testing processes and increase productivity by an order of magnitude. Twister's open, extensible and scalable framework architecture lends itself for parallel and distributed test suite execution; therefore, dramatically improving time for test cycle completion. Not only does Twister improve efficiency of functional, integration and regression test executions, but it also augments test coverage by offering plugins, such as SDN OpenFlow v1.3 test suite.

Integration with existing QA tools and technologies is of paramount importance for increased efficiency of QA processes. Twister integrates with commonly used QA tools for issue tracking(JIRA); revision control (Git, SVN, ClearCase); diagnostics (Wireshark) and continuous integration (Bamboo, Jenkins). Twister also integrates with hardware test equipment, such as Spirent TestCenter (STC) to enable benchmark testing. Twister execution framework can also integrate with pre-existing test suites in Tcl, Perl, and Python scripting languages.

Twister's multi-tenancy and roles-based access control capabilities enable geographically distributed QA organization to manage shared hardware resources; therefore, reducing capital expenditure. Twister's test suite management capabilities lowers TCO due to modularization and reuse of test cases across many QA teams. An easy to use GUI with simple drag and drop of SUT into test path configuration helps to simplify complex test bed setups and avoid costly errors. Reports and continuous real-time monitoring of test results helps with analysis of test case runs and judging product quality against set goals and standards.
